Sudden Death

Sudden Death (Absarokee Sunset x Bendi Charge), a 1976 mare owned by Iris and Bill Snyder of Noblesville, Indiana, was bred by Chesebrough Stables of Edmeston, New York.

Sudden Death enters the ApHC Hall of Fame based on her production records.

Iris and Bill Snyder of Noblesville, Indiana, owned “Mona” for her entire life, from 1976 until she passed away in March 2003. The mare had great success in the show ring, excelling in anything that was fast and anything involving a youth. In her showing career, Mona earned three registers of merit, four youth registers of merit, two superior event titles and three youth superior event titles from 1986 to 1999. Her points totaled 291 in performance and 605.5 in youth classes ranging from senior working cow horse to senior hunter under saddle, and her specialty — games classes.

During some of those showing and non-showing years, Mona produced 10 registered foals. Four of her foals earned 276 performance points, three foals earned 175 halter points, three foals earned 10 registers of merit and five foals earned five bronze medallions.

“Mona was just an amazing individual,” Bill says. “She had a lot of heart and was just fantastic.”
