Roy Young

If the breed started with grassroots promotion of regional clubs, it was members like Young who planted and tended the seeds.  With Young’s encouragement, the Louisiana Appaloosa Horse Association was formed, and he became the clubs first president in 1960.  Young was Texas ApHC President in 1956 and 1957, served as National Director in 1958, and was hired by the ApHC as Field Representative and Show Manager.  His diplomacy and dedication earned him respect that carries to the present day.
