Abranhamsen is considered by many to be a pioneer in bringing Thoroughbred influence into Appaloosa racing.  Interest in improving performance of the breed, he breed his mares to many to Thoroughbred stallions.  A product of one of those parings, My Host Bright, began a long list of winners.  Abranhamsen was also instrumental in establishing the Colorado State Racing Association.
