Lloyd Donley

During the 1950s, ‘60s. ‘70s, Lloyd Donley tirelessly campaigned some of the nation’s leading Appaloosa performance horses throughout the Midwest.  He was one of the first trainers to dedicate himself to the breed, introducing people across the nation to the Appaloosa.  In particular, he was known for training the all-around horse, molding champions as Tico Tornado, Absorokee Sunup, JJ Sunshine, Absarokee Doger, Tem Pop, Yegua’s Bob and CGM Mighty High.   To honor his influence, a Lloyd Donley Memorial Trophy is now presented each year to the best World Show cutting horse.
