Lew and Jo Ann Eklund

     Lew and Jo Ann Eklund are perhaps best known and recognized in the Appaloosa industry for their involvement with their versatile stallion The Executive. The stallion sired 301 foals who have earned 57 bronze medallions and one silver medallion. The Executive’s impact on the breed earned him a place in the ApHC Hall of Fame in 1993. Their diverse talents have earned wins in halter, pleasure, jumping, reining, roping, cattle classes, trail, side saddle and racing.      Breeding great Appaloosas is not the only contribution the Eklunds have made. Lew served the ApHC and the Appaloosa industry for many years as an ApHC Board Director. He also served as president of the prestigious Sagebrush Circuit.
