- George Minic
- A longstanding contributor to the Appaloosa breed in so many ways, George has been showing horses since 1962. He judged at Appaloosa shows — including National and World shows — since 1967 and was an inspector for nearly a decade when he retired from these two duties in 2002.
George’s list of show-ring accomplishments is a long one and started when he won junior grand champion gelding and grand champion gelding titles at his first National Show. George also won the yearling filly and aged mare classes at the first World Show in 1965. George has left his mark in the world of Appaloosa halter horses with his many wins in the past 40 years. He continues to show halter horses and serves as an auctioneer to support the SCAD Stallion Auction Futurity and other major affairs throughout the industry.
ApHC Director Dennis Dean says, “He’s one of the last real cowboys who has the skill and knowledge that we all wish we had. George knows how to teach a horse all the skills they need to be a useful companion to the cowboy.”
