F. R. "Bob" Blair

With a deep interest in racing, Bob Blair superheaded the drive for the acceptance of Appaloosa racing.  Through his efforts, the first state sanctioned race was established in 1962.  Blair served as director of racing for the ApHC from 1964-1977.  During tenure, the number of states approved Appaloosa racing increased from one to four and from one pari-mutuel race in 1962 to 416 races in 1977.
