Pioneer breeder and showman, as well as an Olympic champion; Francis Johnson was a gold medallist on the first American Olympic Basketball Team (1936).  He owned several well-known stallions (Booger Chief the most notable) and was active in organizing regional clubs in Kansas.  Johnson instigated changes in some association by-laws, which were successfully adopted and was a certified ApHC judge.
