Heldoorn
has been involved with the Appaloosa racing industry since 1968.
He not only breed and owned medallion winners Manitou
Rock and Taise Sand, but he also served as one of the original
ApHC Executive Race Committee members.
Heldoorn has also been instrumental in the legislation,
management and development of new racing programs for the betterment
of the industry. He
has served as director of racing and racing coordinator for
Cal-Western Appaloosa since 1976.
