Jones
Jones,
of Dallas, Texas, began breeding Appaloosa World and National
show champions in the 1950’s before switching to race horses
in 1959. Sine
then, he has breed and owned some of the best runners in the
breed; largely because of his stallions Bull Nunneley and
I Love Willie, two of racings most influential sires.
Through Jones’ careful breeding program, he produced
such champions as Undercover Willie, Noteno, Mundo Dinero,
Just Like Willie, Built Tough and Mr. Keck.
Jones remains active in racing as evident by another
Bull Nunneley foal, Wing It, the 1989 ERC 2-year-old Supreme
Champion. In
all, Jones-bred horses, which should continue to lead racing
in the 1990’s, have earned more than $1.6 million on the track.
