Zero
Hancock was foaled in May 1964, a colored baby out of the
Quarter Horse Baby Zero and by Double Hancock. She was bred byL.L.
Anderson of Derby, Kansas, and owned and raced by WilliamLies
and Elroy Zoglman.
Her sire won the first Appaloosa World Wide Futurity in 1962,
which she won in 1966 in world record time, becoming the first
2-year-old filly to run AAA time. She was the champion running
2-year-old filly in 1966 and set a new Appaloosa world and track
record for 250 yards at the 1966 Colorado Appaloosa Futurity.
Zero Hancock earned $20,660 in 15 pari-mutuel starts, including
eight wins. She was also taken into the performance arena and
was agrand champion in halter.
The mare produced 11 foals, seven that earned a combined total
of $60,576 on the track. Most notable was BR Go Zero Go, the only
Appaloosa sired by the legendary Quarter Horse Go Man Go; and
Zero Balance, a racehorse who earned a speed index of 101 and
was a multiple stakes winner.
