This
1967 mare by Blazing Vandy (AQHA) and out of Pinetucky
Queen had an impressive reign on the track through her 5-year-old
year. Vandy’s Vi was bred by Pinetucky Farm in Monroe, Louisiana;
owned by Clyde Standridge of Haskell, Oklahoma, and was later
sold to David Mackie of Houston, Texas.
She spent her 2-year-old year undefeated, winning four of four
starts and earning $19,512. The mare was named champion 2-yearold
running mare, and champion running mare, all ages.
Vandy’s Vi won the 1969 World Wide Futurity, the Kansas Futurity
and Oklahoma Futurity; she was rated AAAT. She was 3-yearold champion
running filly.
As a 5 year old, she held Appaloosa records in 11 categories including
seven world records at various distances. Vandy’s Vi earned $39,514
over her racing lifetime in both pari-mutuel and non-parimutuel
races. She produced two registered foals, Lady Vibrant and Head
Liner.
