Cricket Bars

A multiple stakes winner and record holder, Cricket Bars was
foaled in April 1964, out of a mare named Carey’s Cricket and
sired by Casbar (AQHA). He was bred by Galaxy Investments Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona; he was owned in turns by Jerome Wilson, L.K. Rutherford and Dan Reicks.

Cricket Bars totaled 27 starts with 12 wins, and his official earnings (excluding non-pari-mutuel) total $11,697. He set an Appaloosa world record for 2 year olds at 250 yards in the 1966 Kansas Futurity, a record that held for almost 10 years. The stallion had at least 23 non-pari-mutuel wins.

As a sire, there are 128 registered foals to his name. Of those
foals, 35 started on the track and earned $70,292 in pari-mutuel
races. Records are unavailable for earnings under non-pari-mutuel conditions.

Notable offspring include Crickateer, Ima Cricket Bar, Miss
Kansas Cricket, No Credit and many others. In 1968, the first
Cricket Bars Futurity was run at Claremore Downs in Claremore,
Oklahoma. Cricket Bars passed away in August 1989.
