Caliente's Baldy Foaled in 1963, Caliente's Baldy earned a room full of halter trophies in his early years, then went on to become well known as an all-around performance horse under both adult and youth riders. He competed in English and western pleasure, jumping, cattle and games events. 
He was a consistent regional champion and earned numerous National and World championships and reserve championships.

He also won the 1971 National high-point performance horse and National champion performance gelding titles at Las Vegas. As an appendix to his show titles, Caliente's Baldy won the 220-yard stock saddle race at a Kentucky horse show for five consecutive years. 
The gelding was bred by William E. Blair of Erie, Kansas, and last owned by Debbie Peavler of Waverly, Kansas. He was by Caliente Jr., by Caliente, and out of an unknown mare.
