Foaled in 1959, Apache King S. was bred by Orvill Sears, Sr. and owned by Joe King.  He began his racing career as a four-year-old and ended that year with the most wins of any starter.  A multiple stakes winner, he held world records at 550, 770 and 880 yards and at 4, 41/2 and 5 furlongs.  

He was a leading sire of winners and money earners from 1966 through 1972.
